Wrapped Rock With Twig Zen Art "Eternal Beauty" Product Video "Eternal Beauty" Meditation zen stone. Privacy Stone. Leather wrapped rock with real twig from Beauty Bush in my garden. Using the traditional rock wrapping and knotting technique, I wrapped the river rock with a piece of suede leather, and also wrapped a twig on top of it. The twig is from a tree in my garden. The scientific name of the tree is Kolkwitzia amabilis, but it is also called "Beauty Bush" because of the stunning flowers (see last listing photo). With the seemingly endless wrap and the beauty bush twig, this rock symbolizes "beauty in eternity". The rock is a Canadian river rock. Though time consuming and rough on the fingers, I have found rock wrapping to be calming and meditative. This is inspired by the Japanese wrapped rock 関守石/止步石 which can be found in shrines or in front of a garden. It is a stone or rock tied with a black rope and it means "hold your step" or a polite way of saying "do not enter". So I call it a "privacy stone" where you can place it in a room where you want to preserve your own space, your privacy, your little haven. You can use it for meditation, as a paper weight or even a door stopper.
